CURRICIULUM & POLICIES
Health & Safety
At Cherry Tree Nursery nothing is more important than your child's wellbeing and safety. To achieve this we have a strict set of policies and procedures in place to prevent, and handle every type of incident.
Health
Cherry Tree Day Nursery has strict policies and guidelines for ensuring the health of your child and others is protected at all times. This includes hygiene, food preperation safety and dealing with communicable diseases.
Controlling Illness
If your child is showing any sign of illness we requests that parents do not bring their child to nursery to avoid the risk of cross infection. A child with sickness, diarrhoea, temperature, should rest for 48 hours before being brought back to the nursery. If your child becomes unwell at the nursery you will be contacted and asked to collect your child as soon as possible. We do not keep medicines at nursery for safety reasons. (Please do not bring un-prescribed drugs to the nursery). Written information must be obtained from parents to administer medication and this must be clearly labelled with child.s name. The nursery will maintain links with health visitors and gather health information and advice from local authority.
Injuries
Our Nursery has been specially adapted to prevent injuries to children from occuring due to the building itself. Our Nursery features:
- Barriers are installed several key points throughout the building.
- Finger guards installed on every door.
- Raised power outlets
- Soft flooring in some areas.
- All our toys and equipment are especially designed with children in mind and they are regularly inspected by OFSTED.
