Diet
The Nursery observes a healthy eating diet and will ensure that: All meals and snacks provided are nutritious, avoiding of fat, sugar, or artificial additives. Children.s medical and personal dietary requirements are respected.
A multicultural diet is offered to ensure that children all backgrounds have the opportunity to try unfamiliar foods and the dietary rules of religious groups are known and met in appropriate ways.
All meals and snacks provided are nutritious, freshly cooked. Whenever appropriate brown bread, fruit etc will be offered, avoiding cakes, biscuits, sweets unless accompanied with a special occasion, children are welcome to bring sweets to share with their friends on their birthdays.
The only biscuits, cakes that children will eat in a monthly basis are those cooked by themselves. For dessert children will normally have fruit or yoghurt as we emphasise in a good meal rather than a pudding.
Everyday a child is chosen as a helper and will be in charge of laying the table Children are encouraged to wash their hands before having any food.
